Socrates pleads his case on behalf of all athens. Suggests it would cause the athens harm if socrates is guilty. Socrates, the gadfly: stop athens from taking a moral nap, athens will have great difficulty to find someone to take his place, really sent by god as a gift to the athens. Socrates condemns courtroom: he refuses the fall of mercy of the court, he refuses emotional plead for sympathy, only legitimate justice is by reason, rational argument based on the facts. Socrates recurrent dream: told him he was to be diligent and make music, told him to compose music, metaphorically to mean he needs to get busy and do philosophy as philosophy is highest of the arts.
