The idea / forms idos (something greek) Ex: form = tall, short is not a form because short is less tall , form is complete. Imagine you have an isosceles triangle that"s bigger than all and bright red. Beside it a scalene triangle that"s bright blue. Triangularity, all are just instances, what it means to be a triangle, all just participating in the form triangularity. Plato believed that the form of beauty was actually thought somehow or other to be. If there is a form of beauty is there also a form of ugliness? beautiful. If something is ugly it is because it does not participate as much in the form of the beautiful as beauty does. No because there is a single form for human being that resembles man, the ideal human form is male and woman participate to a lesser extent in this form, woman are less than perfect males in the form.
