Who def"n of sexuality is a central aspect of being human and encompasses sex, gender identities and roles, orientation, eroticism, pleasure, intimacy and reproduction. Sexual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well being related to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction, or infirmity. Why study human sexuality: intrinsically interesting, human sexuality reveals human nature, reliable + valid ways to measure arousal (penile and vaginal, imp. But also: sex is imp to health even in absence of probs/disease. *so, the study of romantic relationships, sex orientation, sex over lifespan, etc. , imp to health, regardless of probs. Examples of sex research: gender & sexuality. Men: more interest in casual sex; more partners; more masturbation; more visual . Women: capacity for multiple orgasms; more romantic; aroused by. For sex active cdn univ students what % used a condom last time coitus: 47% Sexual orientation: persistent erotic inclination/attraction (less to do with behaviour )
