In european countries, the needed infrastructure rebuilt: after the war, us became the strongest power. Was the only country with atomic bombs: soviet union became a major regional power. Conditions in latin america: wartime changes, postwar growth of nationalism, due to the developments. Major imperial powers were hard hit and couldn"t retain control over their colonies.
