Everything you do as a teacher is driven by what you do believe about the aims and value of education. What classroom activities you use, etc: education is about knowledge! To teach facts and to know things. To promote an intellectual and curious state of mind. Intrinsic vs. extrinsic; a means to an end; always has a purpose or a goal: criticisms of knowledge. Attitudes and dispositions are important too! (not just facts) Values and outlooks should be taken into consideration also: well-being. Education should help us figure out how to live well", and be happy. Note: sometimes happiness and well-being may contradict. The point is not to just do whatever you want, but make an informed decision. Education should help us cultivate the knowledge, abilities and motivations to make good decisions about happiness in the long run. Health; to cure diseases; improve quality of health-care. Constructing your true-self is an educational process.
