Is imagined b/c the members of even the smallest nation will never know most of its fellow members, meet them, or even hear of them. Yet in the minds of each lives the image of their communion . We can do that by having similar interests, ideas, values and recognize similar meanings behind symbols. Benefits of collective memory: help to construct unity, create pride and patriotism, define who we are and who we are not. 69% of canadians believe our common history, heroes and symbols have made canada successful. What is a myth: a traditional, story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings on events, a widely held but false belief or idea.
