Canada sees a great rise in nationalism during world war one, same as they did for the war of 1812. Canada in war with them as well. There was a unified reaction (cheering), people were excited to go to war. Everyone was very optimistic about their chances of winning the war. The war did not end in christmas (this was a myth) it was over 4 years. Enemy tactic- flood enemy trenches, this would take forever to drain. Men would be standing up to their knees in water in the trenches. For 4 years the men in the trenches had little shelter, they were cold and hungry. At night some men would gather up artilleries and fix up the trenches while others would stand guard and watch no mans land.
