Childhood asthma rates highest in atlantic provinces, lowest in british columbia & prairie provinces. Most susceptible -> as a fetus & first 3-5 years of life. Nlscy has found no correlation between household income & getting asthma and no correlation between living in a rural or urban area & getting asthma. Asthma is multi-modal & so usually is caused by more than one thing! Most people with asthma have a mix of both types. Intrinsic is not as well understood as extrinsic.
