These people are high in ethnocentrism (they think their culture/country/etc. is superior) A person with an authoritarian personality tends to be submissive to in group authorities. Religious fundamentalists tend to fall into the authoritarian personality category. Authoritarians tend to prefer tradition and convention. People who attend church, overall, tend to be more prejudiced than non-church goers. They also tend to have a very harsh and punitive attitude towards wrongdoers and tend to be in favour of the death penalty.
