• Used to summarize a collection of data
• Often use either to measure central tendency or variability of scores

Mode
Most popular/frequent score
Median
Middle score
If even number of scores then average of 2 middle scores
Mean or average
Sum of all scores/no of all scores

• Means usually not real scores that occurred
• Can be easily affected by extreme values

• Distribution of data
• Shapes - positive or negative skew, symmetrical
