Many activities (digestion of fats and proteins) can be carried out by multiple populations. Our communities can be different but or metagenomic microbiomes function works in the same way. Different microbiomes can work in the same way. Microbiome "hardcoded and resets after disruption, even though the composition of bacterial types changes.
