o Planning a HASS Excursion
For this assessment you will work with a partner to design an excursion that will enhance the
teaching and learning of an aspect of HASS for a particular year level.
You are required to investigate, visit and plan an excursion to a significant venue in the local
community. This will allow you to become familiar with all the elements required in planning an
excursion. It will also increase your knowledge in the venues that are appropriate for primary
aged children.
You can choose any place choose a venue that interests you

Lesson Plan
You are to design a detailed lesson plan based on a topic or concept that is taught in
Foundation Year 6 in HASS. You must refer to SCSA.

Your lesson is assumed to be approximately 40 60 minutes in length.
The Notre Dame Lesson plan must be used.

most learning areas.

Design and submit one assessment strategy to assess the objectives for this lesson
The HASS Learning area aims to expand student’s knowledge and understanding of;
o Their society and local environment and other societies and global environments
o The inter-relationships between societies and environments places and their features, the ways that
people use resources and interact with environments
o Our own country, Australia, people, environmental and cultural heritage, economic, political and legal
systems.

o Deal with issues ethics, social justice, ecological sustainability
