Document Summary
Determine an individual"s nutritional status for clinical management. Make connections between nutritional status and health parameters in research investigations. Physical signs can occur for many di erent reasons. They aren"t su cient to diagnose nutritional de ciencies on their own. Sometimes we can go to do blood tests to detect any anomalies like iron de ciency = anaemia. Anthropometry is the measurement of the human individual. Bmi : body mass index : weight (kg)/height^2 (metres) It is a measure to assess weight status of a population. It provides a rough guide of weight status for individuals. The higher the number the more you are at risk of being obese and having health problems but same thing for people that are too skinny which would be very dangerous and lead to death sometimes. For men, at 94cm the risk gets increased but at 102 cm it gets very risky and for women its is between from 80cm to 88cm.
