Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
• Main focus is that thoughts, feelings and ehaious oie to ifluee a pesos ualit

• CBT is a combination of behaviour therapy and cognitive therapy
• The behaviour therapy uses strategies to change behaviour that may have been unhelpful to
the person
• The cognitive therapy focuses on the way the person thinks about a situation e.g. negative
thinking
Strategies of CBT
• Explain the rationale of thoughts influencing feelings
• Identify negative (unhelpful) thoughts
• Challenge negative thoughts
