Symptoms: general (fever, headache, vomiting, lethargy, rash (meningococcal, neck stiffness, seizures, unconsciousness, coma, raised intracranial pressure. Transmitted by aerosols from the nose and throat of an infected person. Bacteria can be carries without development of serious disease.
