Example was students earning hourly income, and started with the number earning (e. g. ) +/hour, then all students earning +/hour (which also includes those earning +, so the cumulative number is higher) this increases right up include cumulatively all students earning + per hour this includes all in the study. Not always meaningful dependent on data and what is being investigated o. Example was sodium and sugar in different cereals. Good to observe dot plots before looking at numbers, as will help to highlight obvious patterns immediately. Very simple dots on a number line. Disadvantage: not particularly informative if dots sit on top of. Disadvantage: not particularly informative if dots sit on top of each other.
