Document Summary
Attitudes: a psychological tendency that is expressed by evaluating a particular entity with some degree of favour or disfavour. Attitude discrepant behaviour performed for large rewards (small amount of attitude change) Is dissonance-driven attitude change determined by the reason for the discrepancy between their attitudes and their actions. Conciousness is hard to define - working definition. Psychology is the science of mind and behaviour therefore the fundamental basis of this is conciousness. You are no more than the collective activity of nerve cells. Descartes supports the idea that bodies and minds are different - dualism. This shows us that we typically think of us" as different to our bodies. The majority of people on this earth believe that when their body dies, they wont. The scientific concensus - says dualism is wrong. There is no you separate from your body and brain. It is unscientific - we want to know about mental phenomena.
