Identify common myths and misconceptions about suicide: recognize the characteristic symptoms of schizophrenia, explain how psychosocial, neural, biochemical and genetic influences create the vulnerability to schizophrenia. Bipolar disorder can generate a period of extreme happiness and good mood: impairment, some disorders interfere with people"s ability to function in daily life - they may destroy marriages, friendships and jobs. But some impairments aren"t related to illnesses such as laziness doesn"t destroy your social relationships so impairment can"t always be used to define mental illness: societal disapproval, biological dysfunction.
