For the most part, cbrn attacks are a concern for military planners. There have been many examples of these kinds of attacks through the history of war: Wwi: chemical weapons were deployed on multiple european fronts. Wwii: saw the emergence of nuclear war, and the associated radiological consequences, chemical weapons were also developed (not used on battlefields), including the emergence of sarin used in tokyo in 1995. Syrian war: un reports blamed the assad government and isis for using chemical weapons in. Vietnam war: us and south vietnam military deployed agent orange, a poisonous herbicide, to thin the trees that vietcong were using as cover. European settlers spreading disease amongst native peoples: 1763 siege of fort pitt, smallpox blankets. Chemical: anything produced in a lab, gases, mustard gas, cyanide, etc, tokyo subway system attack. Anthrax attack in usa: letters laced with anthrax to politicians, disperse in the air and water get diluted and are less effective.
