Formulas
• =B16 row and column references change when the formula is dragged
• =$B$16 row and column references do not change
• =$B16 row reference changes, but column reference does not
• =B$16 column reference changes, but row reference does not
Probability Distribution Function
NORM.DIST(x, mean, standard deviation, TRUE) with:
• x: the specified value to be examined
• mean: the mean of the normal distribution
• Standard deviation: the standard deviation of the normal distribution
Inverse Normal
NORM.INV calculates, for a given normal distribution, the value of the random variable given a
probability, and its format is NORM.INV(probability, mean, standard deviation) with:
• probability: the probability to be examined
• mean: the mean of the normal distribution
• standard deviation: the standard deviation of the normal distribution
T distribution
In Excel we use the functions:
• =T.DIST(X, degrees of freedom, TRUE) : to work out probabilities for a given value of X.
• =T.INV(probability, degrees of freedom) : to work out the X value for a given probability
