Green revolution: post-wwii technological response to food shortages. Increased yields via fertilisers, irrigation: high yield varieties, double cropping, modern equipment, credit facilities & pricing policies, consequences increased soil & water degradation / use, decreased genetic diversity increased pesticide, herbicide & fungicide use.
