In policy, a positive slant can prevent attaching stigma to different social groups. Mental health and mental illness are not opposite ends of the same spectrum ie. well or unwell. There is a spectrum for mental health and for mental illness. Different ways of expressing mental health - (cid:453)hedonic(cid:454) . We all have a set point of happiness. What about resilience? (cid:434) models to articulate resilience(cid:444) Musicking can help and support people at different levels of mental health (cid:453)recovery(cid:454): one word, two meanings . Mental illness as a biomedical condition, and knowledge comes from an expert point of view. Mental illness is best understood as a subjective experience. Recovery in mental illness (cid:455) a deeply personal, unique process of changing one"s attitudes, values, feelings, goals, skills and/or roles. It is a way of living a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing life even with limitations caused by the illness.
