What is Homeopathy
• Series of natural medicine developed by German physician
• Recognising that the whole person mind body spirit is affected where there is illness -
homeopathy seeks to treat the whole person
• Totality of the individual
Philosophy
• When a person becomes ill it is the whole that is sick, body mind and spirit
• Body manifests symptoms of illness - but it not the origin of illness
• The origin of illness lies in an imbalance of the vital force
Basic principles
• Homeopathy is based on four fundamental principles
o Treating 'like with like'
• Law of simulars
• If you have miseals - give more miseals
o The minimum (infinitesimal) dose
• A substance that is diluted and shaken vigorously (succussed) becomes
stronger curatively the more it is repeated diluted but only if it also succussed
• Without vigorous shaking have no curable value
o The potentized remedy
• Are diluted by a method that releases their energy potentization
• Diluted beyond Avogadro's number
• Simple dilution does not work - serial dilution and succussion method of
manufacturing homeopathic medicines
o Single remedy
• Remedies are tested one at a time and therefore should be administered
singly. This is maybe the most difficult aspect of the treatment
