Both muscles attached to vc and associated structures medially, and either descend (sps ) or ascend (spi) to attach to the ribs. Lowerportion of ligamentum nuchae, spinous processes of cvii to tiii and supraspinous ligaments. Spinous processes of txi to liii and supraspinous ligaments.
