Document Summary
Identify the principle muscles and ligaments of the vertebral column. Discuss their functional roles in stability and movement of the vc. Know the innervation and attachments of these muscles and the attachments of the ligaments. Originate embryologically from locations other than the back. Muscles related to and involved in movements of upper limb. Attach to superior part of appendicular and axial skeleton wk 8 page 2. Screen clipping taken: 10/04/2018 8:23 pm wk 8 page 3. Screen clipping taken: 27/04/2018 7:37 pm wk 8 page 4. Muscles attached to ribs, can have respiratory function. 2 thin muscular sheets, immediately deep to the muscles in the superficial group. Both muscles attached to vc and associated structures medially, and either descend (sps ) or ascend (spi) to attach to the ribs. Lowerportion of ligamentum nuchae, spinous processes of cvii to tiii and supraspinous ligaments. Spinous processes of txi to liii and supraspinous ligaments.
