Fragmentation: single or chained clauses, coordinating conjunctions (a clause is a unit of meaning that has both a noun and a subject or verb) Involvement: first person, monitoring (checking the listener eg: finished? you right now? emphasis, hedges, direct quotes. Speech is linked with coordination small and relatively independent, flow of information is controlled.
