Week 3 safety in healthcare: injection control: contact transmission. Direct contact transfer of micro organism directly. Indirect transmission from source to object, object to host and host to patient: droplet transmission. Part of the disease get evaporated and travel longer. Invasive technic take precaution to not break the skin. Aseptic practices to be implemented before, during and after. Most sterile items are in peel pack packs. Do not lean over the sterile field. Prepare close to the time of use. Applied to all persons regardless of their presumed infectious status. Used to minimise the risk of cross contamination. Must be employed when handling all body fluids and non-intact skin. Wear gloves when exposure to body fluids is anticipated. Hands must be washed after handling any blood, body fluids. Cuts and abrasions on hands must be covered with a waterproof dressing. All sharps must be disposed of in designated sharp containers.
