Document Summary

Creates collagen which is necessary for structure (made in connective tissue in ligaments, tendons, etc. ) The proteome of a cell is all the proteins that a cell makes. Proteomics is the study of the proteins in a cell. The proteome of two cells can be compared to see how they are different. Rna acts as an intermediary between dna and protein. Deoxy=missing an oxygen, i. e. rna has an o atom that dna does not. You can combine a&t as both have one hydrogen bond. And you can only pair c&g as they have two hydrogen bonds. Rna is diff. to dna as the dna sugar is deoxyribose, the sugar in rna is ribose. In addition, dna is much longer than rna. Despite all having the same dna, different cell types can have different functions because their genes are turned off/on. E. g a brain cell will have liver functionality turned off. Hormones and methyl groups are responsible for this.
