Plasma membrane fluid mosaic model: cell membrane is always in a state of change and responds the to the environment around it, boundary of the cell-encloses and supports cell contents. Separates intracellular vs. extracellular (that are different) materials and determines what enters and exits the cell (selectively permeable: attaches cells to other cells and to the surround matrix (adhesion, cells communicate with environment through cell membrane.
