Seeds without testa (many bird pollinated & bird dispersed - sticky seeds) Large (33 families, 692 genera, 11 155 species) group (6% of eudicots) Herbs with swollen nodes, succulents, carnivorous plants (lecture 2 today) Many produce betalains (e. g. beta) instead of anthocyanin pigments. Small family of carnivorous plants 3 genera. Drosera - large genus (194 species 110 in south-west australia) lures, captures and digests insects using mucilaginous glands covering leaf surface.
