You need to be reasonably good at what you do but it"s important to know people. Homophilly / heterophilly: similar people (homo, different people that are unrelated (hetero, networks are more powerful when they are heterophilly. More than 60% of these ceo"s feel that it affects their performance. Nearly 70% of first time ceos who felt lonely believed it affected their performance. A us study showed that people only had 3 close friend with whom they would share a personal problem with. The average had dropped to 2 close friends and the modal showed that it was equal to 0 close friends. The dangers of low social connection: worse for health, suicide, higher inflammation, anxiety and depression, slower recovery.
