Peak level is experienced in late childhood then decreases: girls experience lower self-esteem than boys when they hit puberty. Made up on an aggregate of domain-specific measures, such as: Imaginary audience (elkind, 1978, 1985: who am i, new ability to critically consider their existence, hormonal changes, vocational expecta3ons. Experimentation with different roles and activities, discovering what fits their personality and what does not.
