Thus your body will react by producing less of its own cortisol. This means it can cross cell membranes easily. Can be inhaled, injected, taken orally and administered as creams. Suppresses your own body"s response to injury and infection. Suppresses body"s capacity to make its own cortisol - raises blood glucose levels - deposits fat in weird spots. Can lead to osteoporosis because it enhances the effects of osteoblasts. Patients need to be slowly weaned off it so that the body can start making cortisol again.
