During experiencing shock parents may have a hard time processing right the information and the may also have self-esteem issues. During coming to a realization stage parents feel the same, but they also come to understand the demands and constraints that come with raising a child with a disability. In 100 words or less, describe some of the effects upon the family relationships that the arrival of a child with a disability can have. When a child with a disability arrives, it not only affects the family members and their response to one another, but it also affects the mother greatly. The child"s arrival may cause trauma and great strain, where it might cause the mother to not be able to perform the tasks she normally does. Research indicates that grandparents, particularly during the disability identification process, are influential in how the parents respond to the child with a disability.
