Single dimension personality tests attempt to measure only one dimension of personality (eg. shyness, aggression, personality) at a time eg: California f scale designed to measure the dimension of authoritarianism. The f scale consists of 29 items having a standardized 6-point agreement-disagreement response option. Self monitoring the extent to which individuals monitor or regulate the nature of their public appearance during their interactions with others (eg. acting surprised when they"re not, appearing sad when others are sad) Self monitoring scale consists of 25 true-false items. People who score highly are able to produce whatever self-representation image that they desire.
