Subarachnoid space: large blood vessels of the brain run between the arachnoid and the pia mater here. Cerebral hemispheres: laminated sheet with 6 layers that forms the outer surface of the cerebral hemispheres. Separated by the medial longitudinal (intrahemispheric) issure.
