Malinche was born around 1500 to a noble family. She had a very promising future until her father (a governor) died and her mother remarried. Malinche as a slave, which is how she arrived to the encampment of heranan cortes. The indigenous people gave the spanish the women to cook and do domestic services, although they easily became concubines. Marnina was given to a companion of cortes, alonso hernandez portocarrero.
