Document Summary

I thought that the article was very intriguing. Empathy is something that i have been learning more about in some of my clubs and i recently heard a presentation about the importance of empathy in regards to relationships with others. I"ve learned in other neurobiology courses how certain external stimuli cause an increase or decrease in activity in certain parts of the brain. I think that studying how we apply empathy in terms of a person"s actions is very interesting. The fact that subjects rated those who played the prisoner"s. Being able to see empathetic responses related to pain in the brain scans and how the responses change based on the actions of a person shows that empathy can be conditional. I think that in today"s world, people struggle to be empathetic and often look for reasons to not express as much empathy toward others.
