Document Summary
I thought this movie was intriguing and drew some cool comparisons between different parts of thinking. I had never thought of the idea of cultural evolution before, but the way it was explained makes sense. The comparison between termites and gaudi gave a clear visual of the difference between species and the more advanced tools of thinking that we as humans have. I also thought the quote we are apes with infected brains is humorous, but true. We are so closely related to apes, but have a much higher level of skill in certain areas. Moving on to the last few ideas in the documentary, he addresses the idea of original memes that have now developed into products of intelligent design. Additionally, he brings up phonemes and our ability to correct images to the norm, for example when the same figure is used to represent multiple letters.
