Perception: the collection of processes used to arrive at a meaningful interpretation of those sensations. Necker cube: message delivered to brain is ambiguous(more than one interpretation) causes brain to shift back. Hue is changes in wavelength of light resulting in colors. Transduction: process by which external messages are translated into the internal intensity=amplitude for light is the brightness language of the brain. Purpose of eye: solve translation problems and pass info to the brian. Light enters the eye through cornea, protective outer layer. Lens, clear flexible piece of tissue that sits behind the pupil. Lens focuses the light on the sensory receptors at back of eye. Process changes the shape of lens itself = accommodation. Distance between lens and object being viewed.
