Johannes kepler: elliptical orbits, planets don"t orbit all at the same speed, time it takes to orbit related to distance from the sun, used math to prove that the sun was the center. Galileo galilei: law of inertia, jupiter"s moons. Sun accepted as center in the scientific community by 1640. Spanish crown"s expedition for information and specimens: especially plants for medicine and crops.
