Neuroscience: the scientific study of the nervous system. Philosophers: first scholars to study the relationships between brain and behavior. Biological psychology: known as behavior and neuroscience, brain and behavior, and physiological psychology. It"s the study of biological bases of psychological processes and behavior. Hippocrates disagreed (about 4000 bce) with aristotle and thought it was functioning for the brain. By second century the brain centered view appeared in galen (father of medicine) Galen treated head injuries and proposed behavior results from the movements of. Rene descartes tried to explain the mode of action (reflex) and how there was a pathway. Dualism- rene descartes promoted that the mind has an immaterial aspect that is distinct from the material body and brain.
