Individual psychology: presents an optimistic view of people while resting heavily on the notion of social interest, a feeling of oneness with all humankind, the one dynamic force behind people"s behavior is the striving for success or superiority. Everyone begins life with physical deficiencies that activate feelings of inferiority that motivate people to strive for success: people"s subjective perceptions shape their behavior and personality. Thoughts, feelings, and actions are all directed toward a single goal and serve a single purpose: the value of all human activity must be seen from the viewpoint of social interest. A feeling of oneness with all humanity; it implies membership in the social community of all people. Social interest is the natural condition of the human species and the adhesive that binds society together: the self-consistent personality structure develops into a person"s style of life.
