The development in science of exact, rational experiment was supported by capitalist interests in practical, economical applications. Rationalism of western culture extends to many fields. Show a stronger propensity to remain in their crafts, and become master craftsmen. Attracted to upper ranks of skilled labor and administrative positions in factories. More likely to develop economic rationalism than catholics. The reformation was known as a substitution of new form of control rather than elimination of the church"s control over everyday life.
