Women throughout the world are bombarded with western images of this unrealistically eternally young ideal woman. A substantial volume of research demonstrates that fat people are discriminated against in a variety of areas, including health care, psychotherapy, college admissions, financial support from parents, and job applications. Across races, there is a similar desire to be thin. Adolescent girls from high socioeconomic status perceived themselves as larger than their ideal to a greater extent than those from lower ses backgrounds. Body dissatisfaction may be lower for nonwhite, older, and noneterosexual woman. Old amish people exception to dissatisfaction from body. Eating disorders and negative body image may be caused not by psychological problems but by cultural and social pressures to be thin. A cultural fixation on female thinness is not an obsession about female beauty but an obsession about female obedience .
