i. Benthic foraminifera, sea urchins, cheilostome bryozoans, crabs, snails,
bivalves, and teleost fish survive in large numbers to assume prominent
ecological positions in the Paleogene sea

iii. Calcareous nannoplankton also rediversified quickly
