Epidemiological research study of the incidence, prevalence, and co-occurrence of childhood disorders. Incidence rates extent to which new cases of a disorder appear over a specified period. Prevalence rates all cases observed (new or existing) in a given period of time: can vary based on definitions. Equating illness with seeking treatment is misleading must also study children not referred to clinics for treatment.
