Communities were so resilient only when they became interdependent and interrelated. Farming suffers from lack of youth involvement and lack of market. Fewer people are eating the traditionally raised food. Lack of education puts native consumer at risk-not knowing the dangers of fast foods. A lot of effort is being put into keeping the traditional farming alive. Farming was second to hunting and gathering before europeans came. Four holy plants: tobacco, beans, squash, corn. Two deities: talking god and calling god. Dine, inc: developing innovations in navajo education. Plan to identify markets for navajo produce. Hope to educate consumers on fast food risks.
