Gender the socially constructed roles and characteristics by which a culture defines male and female. Aggression physical or verbal behavior intended to hurt someone. Men admit to more aggression than woman do. Most societies men do place more importance on power and achievement and are socially dominant. As leaders, men tend to be more directive, or autocratic and woman tend to be more democratic, more welcoming. In everyday behavior, men tend to act as powerful people often do: they are more likely to talk assertively, interrupt, initiate touches, and stare. Woman take more pleasure in talking face to face, and they more often use conversation to explore relationship. Men enjoy doing activates side by side and tend to use conversation to communicate solutions. Woman are more likely to commit relational aggression, and men are more likely to commit physical aggression. Worldwide, woman have tended to express more personal and professional interest in people and less interest in things.
