Close, personal, enduring relationships marked by concern, shared activities/culture, long periods spent together. Impersonal and goal oriented relationships, people interact on a less personal level. Goal = accomplish a specific purpose or perform a specific function. In group: any group a person belongs to and identifies with. Out group: any group a person does not belong to or identify with.
