The economy was good - great gatsby. Workers did not see a need for unions. 1924 congress passed the first-ever immigration law to limit the number of immigrants to enter america - prejudice law. Then the great depression hits in 1929 - overvalued stock market collapsed. A lot of people that thought they were wealthy were actually pore. Of the country had no income and had no savings. Everyones mad at the republicans bc they saw all these signs and didn"t do anything to interfere. Threw out republicans bring in the democrats - they owed a lot to. Norris laguardia act of 1932 - indirectly allowed unions workers so they made labor acts. Also called the anti injunction act - the real name of it. Contract saying you"ll never join a union. Basically making it legal to join a union. Made it more difficult for big business to get an injunction to stop strikes.
